Born in 1978, Pietro ‘Lanfra’ Lanfranchi is an icon of Bergamo ski mountaineering. An athlete in the Italian national ski mountaineering team, Lanfranchi is one of the few non professional athletes who, although he arrived late to the discipline, stood out straight away for his skills. With passion, determination and grit in spades, he has all the ingredients of one of the greatest talents of Italian ski mountaineering. Lanfranchi is always friendly and makes time for others while still being a leader in the group. He is also a music enthusiast and fan of the drums, his other great love. His short but intense career has produced many successes. His record of achievements includes podium places in the World Cup and the Mezzalama, Pierra Menta and Patrouille des Glaciers competitions. These were followed by the immense satisfaction of a record win at Sellaronda 2014 together with his friend Pivk Tadei.
His race? The legendary Parravicini Trophy in the oldest event in Italy, the Alta Val Brembana, which he has already won three times on these mountains; the place where it all began.
