Alessio Roverato, born in 1984, comes from Padua: a young man who loves to go where the game is uncertain, with no limelight but plenty of adventure. Just like the south-west face of the Pelmo, where Alessio put his name to the second repetition of the terrible Diretta first climbed by Franco Miotto, Riccardo Bee and Giovanni Groaz. But also the immense wall of the Burel or the neglected sheer rock faces in Valsugana, theatre of great new routes such as La gioia nel silenzio (300 m, 7c), established in 2010 on the Val Gadena face, and Momento libero (330 m, 8a), freed in 2011 on the south-east face of Sasso Rosso. Alessio explains «To venture into routes I’m not certain I’ll be able to finish is something I find really fascinating: it’s a challenge to face with maximum respect for the mountain, those who climbed it first and myself. When I tackle a route I want a friend I can trust at the other end of the ropeith whom nd oneself: in this way the climb is much more fun because in good company you can chat and joke recalling the many episodes experienced together. That’s the way I see climbing…».
