A mountain guide since 2008, Luca is also a mountain rescue expert, a member of the XMountain School in Verona and a teacher at the mountain school in Tione (province of Trento).
Born in 1981, Luca is an all-round mountaineer with experience ranging from climbing in the Dolomites on high difficulty routes to opening new routes, and from demanding ascents on ice to steep ski descents and climbs outside Europe of 6,000, 7,000 and 8,000 metres, which is the field he is specializing in.
Luca regularly plans one or two non-European expeditions every year. To date he has completed climbs and ascents to the peaks of the Rocky Mountains in North America, climbs on the famous Californian walls in the valley of Yosemite Park, and various climbs and attempts from 6,000 to 8,000 metres in Nepal, Tibet, China, Ladakh, and South America.

Some notable ascents:
• Cho Oyu (8,201m), September 2014, Tibet
• Island Peak (6,189m), climbed twice with clients
• Ama Dablam (6,850m), climbed with clients
• Lenin Peak (7,134m), climbed with clients
• Manaslu (8,163m), attempt to ascend and descend with skis starting from an altitude of 7,100m
• Muztagh Ata (7,546m), climbed twice, the second time with clients

In 2014, Luca set up XTravels, a business created in collaboration with the XMountain School and Verona travel agency Iantra, which deals with organizing and planning tours, treks and expeditions outside Europe. XTravels currently offers a selection of over 30 trips expertly prepared down to every last detail.
Mountain for Life is a project Luca set up on his own initiative with the aim of supporting and raising awareness about the activities of the Trentino Foundation for Cancer Research (Fondazione Trentina per la Ricerca sui Tumori) through excursions in the mountains.
