Matteo Giglio is an all-around alpinist. One who is as strong on rock as on ice, in the high mountains and on crags alike. In the Mont Blanc Range, the massif par excellence, he finds enjoyment both along "Voyage selon Gulliver" on Grand Capucin and up the goulottes of Mont Blanc du Tacul. Furthermore, he has scaled the Eiger North Face (via the historical "Heckmair" and the modern "Le chant du cygne" routes), the north face of Grandes Jorasses (Colton-McIntyre) and the north face of the Matterhorn (Schmid). Here some figures: 7b+ onsight and 8a worked, on rock, and grade 7 onsight on ice; born in 1973, a mountain guide since 2005 and a mountain guide instructor since 2007. He has also been working as a freelance journalist since 1999, collaborating with several specialised magazines. In addition, Matteo has competed as a mountain biker, a cross-country skier, an ice climber, a ski mountaineer (Trofeo Mezzalama, Pierra Menta...) and a skyrunner.
