Matteo Rivadossi in the manner of Ulysses: gifted with tireless curiosity, from the heart of the Earth to the roughest peaks piercing the sky. Born in Brescia in 1970, his specialties are caving, canyoning, alpinism and climbing. Each one of them practiced at a very high level, for the sake of discovery and wishing to tell a story with the aid of a movie camera which was even carried down into the Krubera Abyss (Caucasus), the deepest cave of the Earth. Rivadossi is the president of “Odissea Naturavventura”: an association founded in 1999 – the first and only one in Italy to deal with caving, alpinism and canyoning from both a cultural and technical point of view. No mention of heroism: for Matteo and his friends «the objective is exploration intended as an activity of research and therefore documentation, whether it takes place outside or inside the mountains. The purpose is that of getting to know something and making it known, and, above all, respecting it and making it be respected».
