Runner Franco Plesnikar’s activity is intense and enduring.
“After several years of ploughing through the cross-country trails, I ran my first marathon in 1998. I chose what was called the Cesano Boscone at the time and I finished it in 2 hours and 31 minutes. And I said to myself: not bad for your first time out!”
Franco has been running five marathons a year since 1999 and clocking between 2 hours and 24 minutes and 2 hours and 29 minutes, winning several podiums and many placements in national marathons.
In 2013, he had 45 marathons to his credit, 40 of which were run in under 2 hours and 30 minutes.
2014 is going quite well for the runner from Dogna (Province of Udine). Among his placements we find:
- 2nd place at the TRAIL of the 3 Castles in Gemona del Friuli (Province of Udine)
- 15th place absolute and the first Master at the Italian Sky Race Championship in the Sky Race “della Carnia” in Paluzza (Province of Udine)
- 6th place at the International Berglauf Tarvisio Mountain Running race (Province of Udine)

All of these results were earned with his sweat and great commitment – essential rules for those like Plesnikar who want to maintain their rhythm and levels as high as possible.
And the season isn’t over yet…
