The five members of the Expedition of the CAI SCHIO have returned in recent days from the Tien Shan, Central Asia.

Target achieved: the climbing of Khan Tengri, the beautiful and difficult mountain of 7010 meters which is the border between Kirzighistan, Kazakhstan and China has always been the gym to the great Russian-Soviet tradition of the Himalayan Mountaineering.

Left Italy on July 31, started operations at the Base Camp (4100 m) on August 4, August 15, the team led by Peter Contalbrigo reached the summit (7010 m) in the late afternoon, first going up the north side far as the Chapaev Peak (6080 m) and then get the east side to the top of the "Lord of Heaven". Difficult and thwarted by bad weather, with much snow and cold temperatures (-25), the descent, which lasted three days, two nights stuck in a tent by a blizzard of ice, at 5900 meters.

The promising team - supported by Montura - all staffed by instructors from the School of mountaineering and ski touring "Piccole Dolomiti" CAI SCHIO was formed by leader Peter Contalbrigo, Federico Moro, Alessandro Fistarol, Mirco Busin and Fabio Menegozzo.
