As a young man he heard the call of adventure and took it up. So Claudio Kerschbaumer, born at Mezzolombardo (TN) in 1964, dedicated his time to the mountains and wide open spaces. He is an alpine guide but also a mountain bike instructor. In 1991 he used a bike to become the very first to cross the American continent from Alaska to Argentina, pedalling for over fifteen thousand kilometres and overcoming several summits he came across on the way, including McKinley and Aconcagua. For Claudio «those who travel do so to see and get to know other places and cultures, compare notes, experiment the diversity of other life styles, feel joy in the variety of landscapes and environments, and forge real relationships with other peoples. Travellers make the effort to comprehend and accept the many ways of living they come into contact with, freeing themselves from the restrictions of their own daily lives».
