Maurizio Zanolla, AKA Manolo, the great Montura athlete, climber and author of the book “Eravamo Immortali” (We Were Immortal) was honoured on 17 November at the Gambrinus Park in San Polo di Piave with the “Mazzotti-Gambrinus” Literary Award. Now in its 35th edition and following the magnificent Juniores Award Ceremony held at Treviso’s Palazzo dei Trecento last October, the prestigious literary award was given to Manolo along with two other winners – Alessandro Tasinato and Francesca Gallo.

Manolo is also the honoured guest of the upcoming “Montagne in Movimento” (Mountains in Motion) Festival at Amatrice on Saturday 24 November at 5:00 p.m. at “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso”. After Erri De Luca, Mauro Corona and Paolo Cognetti, now Manolo is also offering his testimony and friendship in support of the reconstruction of areas hit by earthquakes. The event was organized by the Amatrice Chapter of the Italian Alpine Club. Info at eventi@caiamatrice.it
