In these places, the contrast between the beauty of the scenery and the thought of the violence that took place here is very strong; between the simplicity of the landscapes, the cleanliness of their lines, and the redundant rhetoric of the plaques scattered among the battle sites, often signed by the same generals who sent the 'heroes of the fatherland' to slaughter.

From 22 to 24 September 2023, the Sculptors' Symposium returns to La Collina di Lorenzo, in Castiglione delle Stiviere, in the province of Mantua, where the magic happens.
Some of the most important wood sculptors will enrich this place with original artworks that will remain to delight young and old visitors. Our friend and ambassador Fausto De Stefani will welcome all visitors during the symposium.
Everything will be accompanied by music - including that of the chainsaws and chisels - and the friendliness of the sculptors. Besides celebrating a convivial moment, it will also be an opportunity to raise funds for the Rarahil Memorial School in Kirtipur, Nepal.

As in the previous editions, Montura, as sponsor of the Festivaletteratura of Mantua (6-10 September 2023), will enrich the programme with an unprecedented exhibition. In the magnificent Atrio degli Arcieri, one of the Palazzo Ducale’s hall, from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., will be open free of charge the exhibition dedicated to the third edition of the international contest War and Revolutionary Stories - WARS, which supports the projects of war photojournalists.
On 10 September, at 12.30 p.m., the prize-giving ceremony will also be held in the presence of the promoters of the initiative, the Atlas of Wars and Conflicts of the World, represented by the President Raffaele Crocco, and the Artistic Director of the award and well-known photojournalist Fabio Bucciarelli. The exhibition is also made possible thanks to the support of the humanitarian organisation Intersos and Unimondo.
"Anima Liquida" (Liquid Soul), a unique work of art by artist Roberto Conte, tell us the fragility of nature and human beings through an uprooted lime tree trunk and a very unique way of communicating this delicate message. Well, the trunk stripped of branches and bark, lying among the linden trees in Piazza Lega Lombarda, will be covered with the emotions that visitors to Mantua's Festivaletteratura will want to communicate. With a new skin made of engraved words, this fallen tree will be able to say new things and give voice to many people. From 6 to 10 September 2023, anyone will be able to suggest their thoughts by writing them on a postcard that can be requested from the staff present.
The work will then become collective and will represent the "liquid soul" of each of us, as well as that of the tree, in an intimate relationship between man and nature. An initiative realised by Montura, a leading Italian company in outdoor clothing and footwear, and Arte Sella, an open-air museum of excellence in Trentino, which presents over 60 installations by internationally renowned artists. It will also be possible to meet the artist Roberto Conte from Friday 8 to Sunday 10, two times a day, at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

The Festivaletteratura in Mantua is for the third year a fixed stop for fans of the Montura brand, which in addition to producing clothing and footwear for outdoor use, also produces excellent cultural containers and content, such as books, exhibitions and films. 23 August marks the start of the 2023 edition of the festival Sounds of the Dolomites, which this year will run until 1 October with 18 concerts in Trentino's most beautiful mountains.

Climbers are nearly always monomaniacs with unbridled ambitions.
And we’re no exception.
In 2012, having climbed Colonne d’Ercole on the north-west side of Mount Civetta, we blew on the still-hot embers and decided to attempt a new route on Torre Trieste.
Easy to say, wonderful to dream of, but rather complicated to execute.
We started thinking about it, digesting the idea, studying the wall and the existing routes to work out whether it might be feasible… which was absolutely not a given.
In fact, we have an unhealthy tendency to self-impose limits that complicate things somewhat: not only did we want to open a route on the most stunning and famous tower in the Dolomites; we wanted it to be a route with its own logic, a route that doesn’t interfere with the classics and that respects the history of the wall; a traditional-style route that doesn’t require artificial means, and so on and so on…
Montura ambassador Alessandro De Bertolini has stacking up kilometres on his bike with the "Bike the History" project, which combines slow and sustainable travel with the discovery of the territory and its history.
A true trademark for the Trentino cycle traveller, who just a few years ago crossed the United States from south to north, always with the same philosophy, in search of new ways of living the outdoors. At the beginning of July, he set off from Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia, for a journey that will take him this time to Asia for three months.
Walking on trails of great historical importance, but at the same time enjoying the natural and cultural beauty. This is the thrill one feels on the Sentiero della Pace (Peace Path), a 520 km trail that connects the Tonale Pass to the Marmolada, in Trentino, and links many places and localities along the ideal line of the Italian-Austrian front of the First World War in a single track. The team of Va' Sentiero are crossing it in these weeks to verify the trail and create awareness among the local communities.
From July 29th to August 5th 2023, Cervino CineMountain, Europe's highest-altitude international mountain film festival, returns to the foot of Mount Cervin. More precisely in Breuil-Cervinia, Valtournenche, Chamois and la Magdeleine, in the province of Aosta. Eight days of cinema and mountains, with 53 films, including 23 international premieres.
Two films in the competition supported by Montura Editing: 'Day Dream' by Alex d'Emilia and Katia Bernardi and 'L'ultima via di Riccardo Bee' by Emanuele Confortin.
The 26th edition of the Gran Paradiso Film Festival is just around the corner. From 24 July to 17 August, Aosta Valley's longest-running animal film festival returns. This year, it will be enriched with national premieres and an original soundtrack to accompany the scheduled events. From 24 to 29 July, as per tradition, it will open the dances in Cogne, in the province of Aosta, and then continue in August in various locations in the Gran Paradiso valley, including several castles, such as the well-known Introd Castle. This year's theme is 'the art of balance', and investigates that mysterious capacity of Nature not to change despite the forces it undergoes.

On July the 22nd 2023 the science museum of Trento - MUSE celebrates 10 years of activity, and it does so together with the partners who have supported it since its opening. Montura is the only outdoor brand among the 10 Year Supporters, and this is not surprising. After all, the company has been supporting cultural and social initiatives for more than 20 years, with a particular focus on education and mountain culture. For the Italian company this is a real mission, as demonstrated by its support for other excellences in research in Italy. In addition to the MUSE, Montura is a partner of the Arte Sella open-air museum in Trentino and the Forte di Bard cultural centre in the Aosta Valley.
Access to the mountains, regardless of the level of ability, is an exceptional achievement: the natural environment is in fact one where, more than architectural barriers, those related to moral strength, character and human qualities come into play, which are often directly linked to the difficulties faced in life. A common good such as the Dolomites, recognised as such by Unesco in 2009, only truly belongs to humanity if it becomes accessible to all. This is the message that the event Brenta Open wants to convey. It will be held next July 8th and 9th in the Brenta Dolomites, with a programme full of activities.
The effects of the climate crisis are there for all to see, and its consequences are especially evident in the poorest areas of the world. The territory of Ladakh, India, despite being nestled between the Karakoram and Himalayan mountain ranges, receives very little precipitation and its water supply depends mainly on water from melting glaciers.
The snow is melting faster and faster, and this indispensable source for life is increasingly scarce, particularly in the spring months, not allowing the necessary irrigation when it is used for sowing the fields, which remain dry. In 2013, the Indian engineer Sonam Wangchuk, the founder and director of the Students Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh (SECMOL), thanks to an ingenious intuition, invented the 'Ice Stupa', an innovative system to create artificial glaciers capable of storing winter water in the form of cone-shaped ice mounds, reminiscent of a Buddhist pagoda.
Montura is once again supporting the Nuovi Mondi Festival, which has reached its twelfth edition . The event, born from the idea of bringing the magic of cinema and mountain culture to one of the smallest villages in Italy, with just a few dozen residents, now boasts international recognition, as well as having become a virtuous example of promoting a forgotten mountain area. This year's theme is "beyond the clouds", that is, beyond what is known, everyday, contingent, with an eye to the future, to what will be and what we want to be.
The music festival Musica sulle Apuane is back from June 10th to September 3rd, 2023, in the most evocative scenarios of the Apuan Alps, in Tuscany, Italy. Born in the footsteps of I Suoni delle Dolomiti, it brings with the same style the live music to the mountains of central Italy. There are nine shows scheduled for the 11th edition, where the locations can be reached only by foot, in full respect of the surrounding environment. As in the previous editions, classical music is the pivot of the various musical performances, which will see quartets, sextets, octets and small orchestras follow one another in the various concerts. Shinrin-Yoku, literally translated as 'forest bathing', is a Japanese practice that promotes immersion in nature, through all the senses, to benefit our body and mind. For those who practice outdoor activities or live in the mountains is a matter of fact, but there are some people who have never had such experiences, or have never considered doing them. Therefore, it can be a rediscovery for someone and become a natural therapy. It is with this in mind that the association La Grande Via, founded by the journalist Enrica Bortolazzi and the doctor Franco Berrino, has devised La Via delle Foreste, a retreat of one or more days in various locations in Italy that allows participants to experience the awakening of the senses through the contact with nature, food, movement and meditation: the ingredients for achieving the goal of global health. Together with Atlas of Wars, Montura supports the third edition of the WARS International Photography Award, dedicated to photojournalists covering conflicts around the world. At 16.30 on 12 May, Nives Meroi and her husband Romano Benet, Peter Hamor (Slovakia) and Bojan Jan (Slovenia) conquered the summit of Kabru South (7,318m).
Kabru is a mountainous node in the Himalayas located on the border between eastern Nepal and India. It includes multiple peaks over seven thousand metres, including Kabru South, Kabru North (7338m) and Talung (7349m).
The four climbers arrived at the summit after making the first ascent of the west face, the new way was established without the use of supplementary oxygen and porters.

La répétition de la voie "Flamme éternelle" de la Tour sans nom de Trango par le grimpeur espagnol Edu Marín, la deuxième en un peu plus de 30 ans, représente un tournant dans le monde de l'alpinisme pour l'escalade de grandes parois, mais aussi une grande réussite pour l'athlète lui-même, qui avait déjà jeté son dévolu sur cette voie emblématique en 2021, sans atteindre le sommet pendant deux longueurs. L'escalade de voies de plus de 500 m de long et dont le niveau de difficulté dépasse 8c est déjà difficile en soi, si elle se fait ensuite depuis des hauteurs vertigineuses, comme 4 000 ou 5 000 m, la difficulté augmente dramatiquement. Simone Salvagnin, pluri-champion du monde de l’équipe nationale italienne, responsable FASI du secteur Paraclimbing et ambassadeur Montura, se trouve au Népal depuis le 25 octobre pour gravir le Ganchempo (6 378 m), une première ouverture absolue par le versant de Sindhupalchok. Il est accompagné par le guide de montagne expérimenté et ambassadeur Montura Luca Montanari, qui a porté à terme cette année une expédition sur l’Everest avec Andrea Lanfri, le premier pluri-amputé au monde ayant gravi le plus haut sommet de la planète. En cordée avec le duo italien, il y aura aussi le népalais Rabindra Aryal, co-fondateur avec son épouse Federica Riccadonna de l’entreprise sociale Garima Voyage, dont s’inspire cette initiative, soutenue par Montura, et une équipe de grimpeurs népalais extrêmement chevronnés, dont Sanu Sherpa, la première personne au monde ayant atteint les 14 huit mille à deux reprises, et Sanjib Gurung, Président de la Mountain Guide Association of Nepal (MoGAN).
Silvo Karo, l’un des protagonistes de l’âge d’or de l’alpinisme slovène – à cheval entre les années quatre-vingt et quatre-vingt-dix – recevra en novembre prochain en France, à Briançon, le Piolet d’Or carrière, la plus prestigieuse reconnaissance dans le monde de l’alpinisme.
Né en 1960 et ambassadeur Montura depuis plus de 10 ans, Karo a laissé sa marque partout où ses mains ont touché la roche, gravissant plus de 2 000 voies, des Alpes à la Patagonie, en passant par l’Himalaya. « C’est avec une grande fierté que je reçois ce prix – explique Karo. Mais je suis encore plus heureux de tous les messages de félicitation que je reçois d’alpinistes du monde entier, car mes ascensions ont été pour eux une grande source d’inspiration ».
Après 28 jours passés sur le mur à des températures prohibitives, dont au moins la moitié sur le Snow Ledge, à une altitude de 5 700 m, l’alpiniste et ambassadeur Montura Edu Marín est parvenu le 21 juillet 2022 dernier à gravir en libre « Eternal Flame » avec son père Francisco Novato et son frère Álex, l’une des voies les plus difficiles au monde, sur la Tour Sans Nom (6 286 m), ou Tour de Trango, au Pakistan. Cette voie emblématique, ouverte pour la première fois en 1989 par la très forte cordée allemande composée de Kurt Albert, Wolfgang Güllich, Christof Stiegler et Milan Sykora, se développe sur 650 mètres, partant d’une altitude de 5 000 m sur roche de granit, avec une difficulté jusqu’à VI, 7b+, A2.
Quickdry Frame® est une révolutionnaire technologie International Patent Pending, déjà reconnue au niveau international avec le RedDot Design Award 2022, l’un des plus importants prix au monde dans le domaine du design, que Montura utilise en exclusivité et en avant-première internationale en 2022. Le premier vol de FlyingNikka correspond à une date à inscrire sur le calendrier : un « foilage » qui, le jeudi 12 mai, au large de Valence, en Espagne, a marqué le début d’une nouvelle ère pour la navigation offshore.
« J’ai du mal à décrire l’émotion que je ressens en ce moment », explique Roberto Lacorte, un armateur visionnaire qui, avec le lancement du projet FlyingNikka en décembre 2020, s’est révélé être un pionnier dans le domaine de la navigation hauturière à foils.
Long de 60 pieds (un peu moins de 19 mètres), FlyingNikka – le premier voilier « full foiling » de la catégorie Mini Maxi, conçu pour les longs voyages – a été conçu par une équipe de designers coordonnée par l’irlandais Mark Mills.
Le projet ResQ a été créé par un petit groupe d’amis qui étaient épuisés de voir des milliers de migrants mourir dans la tentative désespérée de traverser la Méditerranée et ont décidé de briser le mur de l’indifférence en s’impliquant, avec un seul objectif : rester humains.
Dans le contexte des 70 ans d'activité du festival, il y a une autre étape importante, bien que moins durable : c'est le 15e anniversaire de Montura, d'abord comme partenaire de MontagnaLibri et maintenant depuis plusieurs années comme sponsor principal de l'événement. Cette année encore, du 29 avril au 8 mai, Montura disposera d'un espace très important à l'intérieur de MontagnaLibri, où seront exposées les œuvres réalisées par l'artiste Gianluigi Toccafondo pour les guides de la série consacrée par Idea Montagna au Sentiero Italia CAI.
« Nous sommes convaincus que le réchauffement climatique des dernières décennies a un seul coupable : Nous. » C’est à partir de cette prise de conscience qu’est né le projet soutenu par Montura « Siberia 105° » du cyclo-voyageur de l'extrême, explorateur et ambassadeur Montura Dino Lanzaretti et de l’ultra-marathonien et aventurier Stefano Gregoretti.
Le Tuscany Trail, le plus grand événement de bikepacking au monde qui se déroule chaque année en Toscane, sera renouvelé en 2022 avec un nouveau parcours encore plus passionnant à travers des paysages vallonnés et des villages séculaires.
Montura est le sponsor principal de la première édition de l'Ultra Trail Cervino Matterhon, un parcours unique autour de la plus belle montagne des Alpes, qui aura lieu le 15 juillet 2022 à Breuil-Cervinia (168 km, 13130 m D+). Les inscriptions sont déjà ouvertes sur le site officiel.
Un an après la dernière étape, la Coupe du monde de ski-alpinisme feront à nouveau étape à Pontedilegno et au col du Tonale, où l'événement débutera également officiellement. Le rendez-vous est fixé du 16 au 19 décembre et le programme est disponible sur le site officiel.
À Trente, un projet inédit organisé du 19 juin au 19 septembre au Palazzo delle Albere, avec la main sponsorship de Montura, raconte l’extraordinaire carrière de Steve McCurry. Consacré aux terres et aux peuples de montagne, « Terre Alte » nous emporte dans un voyage entre les altitudes du monde.
Le film « Kinnaur Himalaya » du réalisateur Emanuele Confortin, soutenu par Montura Editing, a remporté le célèbre prix « Mountain Wilderness » lors du 38e Festival du film de montagne de Torello.
Le prix a été décerné par un jury qui a choisi le film représentant le mieux la défense des espaces naturel.
Le Kinnaur est un district tribal de l'Himalaya indien situé sur la délicate frontière entre l'Inde et la Chine.
Les Cholitas, grimpeuses boliviennes, seront à l'honneur durant l'été 2021 avec un tour des Dolomites, où elles graviront quelques sommets et rencontreront beaucoup de monde, si la situation liée au Covid-19 le permet.
L'événement sera organisé par Montura en collaboration avec le Feminist Hiking Collective, la Sportfund fondazione per lo sport Onlus et Dolomiti Open.

Portoroz, Slovénie, 9 avril 2019 - La participation de l'équipage Arkanoè by Montura à la première épreuve de la saison 2019 des Melges 24 European Sailing Series de Portoroz s'achève avec une médaille de bronze : l'équipage de Sergio Caramel, assisté dans ses choix tactiques par le très jeune Filippo Orvieto, a su interpréter avec brio les conditions de vent léger et instable qui ont caractérisé le week-end dans la Baie de Piran, dépassant toujours les équipes qui, depuis des années, écrivent l'histoire de la Classe Melges 24.
Portoroz, Slovénie, 3 avril 2019 - La première étape de l'Alpe Adria Cup a ouvert la saison de monotypie du Melges 24, l'un des voiliers monotypes les plus dynamiques et les plus populaires de la scène nautique internationale, plus de 20 ans après ses débuts en régate.
Douze équipages italiens, slovènes, croates et hongrois ont participé à l'événement organisé par la marina de Portoroz, terminant un total de six régates dans des conditions de vent modéré, entre 8 et 12 nœuds.
Arkanoè by Montura (ITA-809) du skipper Sergio Caramel a remporté les deux jours de régate avec une série de 1, 1, 2, 2, UFD (pénalité) et 1, il termine en tête avec 7 points.
Depuis des années, Montura habille de nombreux navigateurs qui apprécient la qualité ses vêtements et a présenté l'année dernière une ligne dédiée « Keep Sailing ». Elle soutient de grands sportifs comme Gaetano Mura et Enrico Zennaro dans la réalisation de leurs rêves, des équipes de voile prometteuses comme le Melges 24 « Arkanoè Aleali by Montura » et des projets solidaires comme « Diversamente Marinai ». Il s'agit de la « Fraglia Vela Riva », baptisée il y a quatre-vingt-dix ans par Gabriele D'Annunzio, qui a lui a donné ce nom en associant les mots « fraternité » et « famille ».
Cette année, Montura a décidé de soutenir le FAI - Fondo Ambiente Italiano (Fonds Italien pour l'Environnement) en adhérant au programme d'entreprise Corporate Golden Donor.
Aux côtés du FAI, nous souhaitons mettre en œuvre un grand projet de sauvegarde, qui constitue aussi un défi culturel ambitieux : faire de l'Italie un endroit plus beau où vivre, travailler et élever nos enfants. Le patrimoine paysager et culturel que le FAI sauvegarde et promeut constitue en effet un capital unique au monde et une ressource fondamentale sur laquelle il convient d'investir pour faire revivre, développer et valoriser notre merveilleux pays.
Fondé en 1928, la Fraglia della Vela est l'un des clubs de voile les plus actifs au niveau national et international. De nombreuses compétitions sont organisées chaque année et une collaboration importante a été établie avec Montura en 2018. La Fraglia della Vela détient le record du monde Guinness pour la régate monotype avec le plus grand nombre de bateaux : le Garda Optimist Meeting a lieu au printemps et 1 200 jeunes talents internationaux du monde de la voile y participent.
Le samedi 24 novembre, sera célébré le 90ème anniversaire de la Fraglia della Vela et une nouvelle structure polyvalente sera inaugurée pour le cycle de la voile.
Le « Swing », le geste athlétique du golf, est la réponse de MONTURA à la demande croissante des golfeurs de pouvoir se protéger des intempéries sans être contraints de porter des vêtements techniques qui les empêchent de bouger. Le nouveau produit a été développé ces dernières années, en choisissant les meilleures matières premières et en concevant un vêtement conforme à la devise de l'entreprise « l'équipement ergonomique », en utilisant également les informations recueillies aux plus hauts niveaux, les conseils des professionnels et la collaboration de Gigi Camurati, Top 100 World Clubmakers 2015.
Une fois créée, la « Swing Jacket » est immédiatement apparue performante et très ductile. Mais seul l'essai sur le terrain aurait pu donner des réponses absolues.
Trois jeunes organisent une expédition collective partagée en temps réel sur le trek le plus long du monde, pour raconter l'histoire des hautes terres italiennes. En 2017, après avoir découvert que le sentier de randonnée le plus long du monde - le Sentiero Italia - porte le drapeau italien (il traverse toute la botte), ils ont décidé de concrétiser le projet Va'Sentiero.
Va Sentiero est un projet socioculturel et environnemental qui, partant d'un désir intime de découvrir son propre pays en marchant le long de sa crête de montagne, vise à s'étendre à la communauté, à faire du voyage une expérience participative, ouverte à tous.
Prague/Norvège - 5 septembre 2017 - Hier, Adam Ondra a écrit une page de l'histoire de l'alpinisme en portant à terme son projet dans la grotte Hanshelleren à Flatanger, en Norvège, et en ouvrant la première voie au monde cotée 9c.
Après l'exploit de Dawn Wall en 2016, où il a enchaîné en un temps record les 32 longueurs de cette voie extrêmement difficile, le grimpeur tchèque a une fois de plus repoussé les limites de l'escalade en ouvrant la première voie 9c de l'histoire. Adam n'a pas encore donné de nom à cette voie car, jusqu'à présent, elle était désignée comme « Project Hard ». La voie a été pitonnée en 2013 et Adam s'est concentré sur celle-ci depuis l'an dernier. Il y a consacré toute la saison 2017.
L'équipe de départ est hyper testée, des compagnons de cordée mais aussi et surtout des amis, une garantie de succès et de plaisir, composée de Rolando Larcher, Luca Giupponi et Nicola Sartori.
Rolando affirme, dans son rapport : « Pour comprendre le style et la pierre, nous faisons quelques longueurs en falaise et, une fois que nous avons choisi une paroi, le lendemain nous essayons de commencer notre ligne. Nous ouvrons dans le style habituel : du bas, en escalade libre, avec des protections naturelles dans la mesure du possible et ensuite des spits espacés sans points d'aide. Un style difficile à adopter sur une roche aussi délicate. En fait, les quelques voies existantes ont été équipées du haut ou, au mieux, ouvertes par le bas, mais avec l'utilisation déplorable de spits amovibles.
« L'Arca di Legno » est une série télévisée qui raconte les histoires de personnes liées par une passion commune : la montagne et le choix de l'extrême. La montagne est le théâtre omniprésent et la clé pour interpréter ces histoires, où elle est racontée comme une compagne complice et terrible, l'arrière-plan d'une vie et d'une vision de l'existence, originale et très personnelle : le défi de la limite, le calcul du risque et le désir de suivre sa propre passion, deviennent le moteur principal.
La série vise également à faire ressortir les ombres des protagonistes, un approfondissement qui laisse émerger la dimension intime de chacun d'entre eux, ainsi que celle plus spectaculaire.
