Description

This jacket is built from a recycled polyester fabric that keeps out wind and precipitation when on the mountain. A nylon lining with DWR wicks excess moisture away so you stay dry and comfortable for longer. Made with cold conditions in mind, the Comfortemp® insulation locks in warmth while remaining breathable when working up a sweat. The recycled polyester fabric is abrasion- and tear-resistant, ready to cope with tough terrain. With two front pockets and a zipped inner pocket, you can securely store rescue tools while on the job. When performing mountain rescues in harsh conditions, the men's Genesis Pro 2 Jacket is a warm and durable mid or outer layer you can rely on to keep you comfortable. Plus, when not in use, you can stash it away easily using the integrated stow pocket.

Benefits

Breathable

This garment is made of breathable fabrics to help the skin’s natural transpiration while always keeping the body at the optimal temperature.

Water Repellent (DWR)

A water-repellent layer applied to the fabric ensures light protection from external humidity.

Windproof

The fabric prevents the wind from penetrating, reducing the risk of getting cold.

Materials

Comfortemp®: Ultralight polyester insulation (120 g/sq.m) that provides thermal insulation, the utmost lightness and freedom of movement. The special construction prevents fibre migration and it is easy care. This innovative insulation combines the advantages of down and synthetic padding in a quality that has not been achieved before. This thermal insulation is higher than conventional padding while being as light and soft as down. Comfortemp® is an innovative alternative to down, with optimal breathability and it holds its shape even after washing, ensuring no cold spots.

PERTEX® QUANTUM (36 g/m2): garments made in PERTEX QUANTUM® have the best mechanical performance-to-weight ratio. This ultra-light recycled nylon product is as soft as silk, with excellent compressibility, abrasion resistance and protection from external humidity, wind and rain: The fabric does not get soaked, it dries quickly thanks to the special PFCec-FREE DWR water-repellent finish, ensuring the absence of fluorinated compounds which are harmful to the environment. ANTI-UV: UPF50+.

Comfortemp®: Polyester wadding (150 g/sq.m) designed to offer thermal insulation, light weight and freedom of movement. The particular construction prevents the fibres coming away from the fabric, and is easy to clean. This innovative insulation combines the advantages of down padding and wadding, offering unprecedented quality. This thermal insulation is superior to that of conventional padding, yet is light and soft, like down. Comfortemp® is an innovative alternative to feathers, guaranteeing excellent breathability and maintaining structure even after washing, ensuring there are no cold spots.

PFC FREE CLOTHING. Traditional waterproof jackets repel water using synthetic compounds known as PFCs (perfluorocarbons). PFCs have been used for many years as Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coatings, surface treatments for outdoor clothing, equipment and footwear. This coating helps waterproof materials to repel water and impurities. Without this invisible shield, water and dirt would pass through the layers, creating a wet and damp feeling and drastically reducing comfort. The chemical bond formed between the fluorine and carbon found in PFCs is one of the strongest chemical bonds known to date: this is why PFCs do not degrade quickly in the environment. Traces of them have been found in animals and in humans also. This problem, concerning the accumulation of this compound in humans and the environment, can cause various repercussions on the health of people and the ecosystem and this has been the reason for many discussions between environmental groups and outdoor clothing companies. A key element in the persistence of PFCs in the environment is the length of their chemical structure, or the number of carbon atoms within the structure. Historically, the outdoor clothing industries have used long-chain structured PFCs (referred to as "C8"). In response to concerns about the environmental impact of PFCs, leading chemical manufacturers have developed shorter chain compounds (for example, C6), which may be less persistent. Montura has replaced the DWR used in its entire outdoor clothing and footwear collection with the safer C6 compound. That said, DWR C6 may still be dangerous for the environment and most companies, Montura included, are committed to finding healthier alternatives for the ecosystem: for this reason, DWR PFC FREE treatments have been developed. All outdoor brands are aware that DWR alternatives without PFCs do not have the same durability and performance as the previous C6 and C8 treatments. Montura has selected the highest-performing PFC Free DWR versions available today for its products. PFC free* clothing is intentionally made with materials free from water-repellent treatments based on PFC compounds (perfluorocarbons). The outshell fabrics are treated with an eco-compatible water-repellent coating that is PFC-free: this coating is a plant-based, non-fluorinated fabric treatment for durable water repellency and is manufactured with 60 percent renewable raw materials. * The product may contain traces.
